Translink have been successful in achieving ‘Highly Commended’ in two major categories at the National Bus Industry Awards 2002, which took place on Tuesday 19th November at a prestigious ceremony at London’s Hilton Hotel, Park Lane. Translink were short-listed for two awards - an amazing attainment at ‘National’ level.
• Eureka Marketing Award
The Translink entry looked at the ‘SmartPass – It’s Just the Ticket’ promotional campaign, which rewarded SmartPass customers with the opportunity of winning £100 using the latest in Smartcard technology.
• Integrated Transport Customer Service Award
The submission focused on Translink’s on-going commitment to customer care and the monitoring of service delivery through initiatives such as; staff suggestion schemes, product development proposals, focus groups, ‘expectations modelling’ and customer impact teams
Ted Hesketh, Managing Director of Translink explained, “This is the bus industry equivalent of the Oscars! The awards not only reward individual successes but reflect the hard work and dedication of all Translink staff. We faced some very stiff competition from national bus companies, however we were confident that our efforts would be rewarded”.
