Citybus (now Metro) Investment in Falls Road Engineering Works

22 January 2003

Citybus (now Metro) have unveiled plans for the refurbishment of their Falls Road Running Repair Workshop.  The project value is in the region of £1.4million and is expected to last for 9 months.  The up-grade will focus on creating a first-class environment for the 80 engineering staff and 120 drivers also employed in Falls Road depot.

Damien Bannon, Citybus (now Metro) District Manager commented; “Projects of this nature are always evaluated for their benefits to our passengers.  In this case the state of the art engineering facilities will mean faster turn around times for Citybuses in need of repair.  As a result there will be more buses on the road at any one time, keeping service disruptions to a minimum.”

Invitations for expressions of interest from main building contractors have been placed and it is hoped that work will begin this summer.
