Translink delivering high standards following NICVA award

Disability Access Manager Terry Butler and Shopmobility Director Ann Collins are in celebratory mood following Translink's recognition at the recent NICVA Link Awards.
Translink has demonstrated its commitment to high standards of customer care following recognition at the recent NICVA Link Awards in Belfast.
Translink won first place in the Small Charity Category after being nominated by Shopmobility in Belfast. The award comes hard on the heels of a new Shopmobility scheme opening at Coleraine Bus & Rail Centre – so emphasising the widespread popularity of Shopmobility services.
Translink Disability Access Manager Terry Butler said: “The Shopmobility facility has proven to be a big hit with the public and has greatly improved access and convenience for people with limited mobility.
“We’re in the second year of our partnership with Shopmobility so it’s pleasing to see our scheme has established itself so successfully. We would also view this award as recognition of the tremendous work carried out by Shopmobility in this area.”
He added: “Translink is constantly looking at new ways to ensure we continuously provide an accessible public transport system that is fully responsive to customer needs.”
Shopmobility Director Ann Collins said: “We currently have over 6,000 members from across Northern Ireland who regularly use our services.
“Our aim is to promote independence for people with limited mobility which could be due to disability, illness, accident or age. We are committed to working to improve accessibility and, as ever, our membership is free.”
Working in partnership, Translink and Shopmobility offer wheelchairs, motorised scooters and electric wheelchairs for free daily hire from the Europa Buscentre and Great Victoria Street Rail Centre in Belfast.
