Pupil Passes Available To Purchase

20th June 2008:

While pupils across Northern Ireland are counting down to their long awaited summer holidays, Translink is encouraging parents to get their applications in early for next year’s pupil travel passes.

Norman Maynes, Translink’s Head of Business Development commented:

“Traditionally parents are faced with huge costs at the end of August as they have to purchase new uniforms, stationery and a host of other school based materials for their children. In order to help spread these often expensive costs we are encouraging parents to purchase their children’s travel passes as early as possible.”

“The passes also provide parents with piece of mind about their children’s transport requirements by removing the worry of children forgetting or losing their bus or rail fare and the inconvenience of counting out fares on a daily basis. With the rise in the cost of living and the current consumer credit crunch significant savings can be achieved with the purchase of a Pupil Pass. They represent an ideal solution for children who do not qualify for free travel passes.” he said.

Translink Pupil Pass application forms are available from all main bus and rail stations or by contacting the Pupil Ticket Office directly on 028 9035 4074. Each application is individually assessed with the rate of discount varying depending on individual circumstances and travel requirements.

The Translink Pupil Pass can be used for integrated bus and rail travel.
