The happy passengers are Donaghadee residents June Boyd, June Snowball and Jack Trainor, all of whom are regular users of the new, improved local Ulsterbus service.
Translink and local residents in Donaghadee were this week celebrating the first birthday of the increasingly popular, new Ulsterbus Donaghadee Town Service. The service, which has seen a significant increase in passenger numbers, serves both residential and retail routes, stopping in the town centre and offering five return services to Bloomfield Shopping Centre and Bangor Buscentre, Monday to Friday.
The service has proved even more popular due its use of low floor vehicles, which offer improved accessibility for Donaghadee parents with small children, as well as those with mobility issues. Many over 65s are availing of the new, improved services, enjoying free travel with their Senior Smartpass. It is expected that services will continue to flourish as those aged 60-65 are now also eligible for free travel across Northern Ireland from October.
