Travelling by train can add to the experience of a group outing as many children and young people do not often get the opportunity to travel by train. There are many other benefits to making your journey by rail including:

This booklet gives you a flavour of some of the leading attractions or places of interest that are within walking distance of one of the stations on our railway network. There is a wide variety of both educational and recreational trips available which would be relevant to children and young people of all ages. Many of the attractions offer activities and educational tours which are linked to the national curriculum. Alternatively, you can take your group to a wide variety of leisure attractions as a special end of term treat! Most of the attractions listed also provide special group discounts.
