Foyle Area Ulsterbus Strategic Review

(changes effective from 4th September 2006)

The first key change was the renaming of city services to Ulsterbus Foyle.  The key benefits of these improved services mean a new simplified and standardised modern route network, designed to meet customer needs.  There will be regular and more frequent bus services throughout the day, with network extensions to Strathfoyle and Newbuildings.

Simplified clock face timetabling will help to ease understanding and there will be improved integration with Goldline express services and the rail network.  There are also extended frequencies on Sundays to meet shopping trends.

It is planned that new modern bus shelters will be installed (in conjunction with the Department for Regional Development and Derry City Council) and new vehicle livery for City services to reflect renamed Ulsterbus Foyle services.  All City services will be fully accessible.

There was an introductory promotional fare of £1.20 for unlimited day travel available from 4th September to 31st October.  From 1st November to 31st January the Foyle Day Ticket will be £1.50.  New Smartcard promotions will also be on offer, with free cards available until the end of November 2006 -10 journeys priced at £8.00 and 40 journeys priced at £30.50.
