NIRailways are committed to providing you with value for money and our staff will offer you the best value fare for your journey. Depending upon where you are travelling to, when you are travelling, how many people are travelling together and when you wish to return, you can take advantage of the discounted fares.

Ticket types explained

Group Travel

Group travel rates are available for organised parties of 10 or more passengers who have pre-booked through NIR Travel on telephone 028 9024 2420. Groups of 10 passengers will be given 15% discount on single and return fares.

Children aged 5 – 15 years accompanying adult groups will be charged half fare. Wholly school or juvenile organisation groups will be charged half fare under 18 years. One free place will be available for group leaders accompanying every 10 paying passengers. Seat reservations on services within Northern Ireland are available however seats cannot be guaranteed on peak commuter services.

Sunday Day Tracker

These tickets offer unlimited travel on a Sunday and are available all year round on the NIRailways network and no time restrictions apply.

Freedom of Northern Ireland

This ticket offers unlimited travel on all scheduled rail and bus services in Northern Ireland operated by NIRailways, Metro and Ulsterbus, including the Airport Express 300 and Airport Express 600 services.

A choice of 1 day, 3 days out of 8 consecutive days and 7  consecutive days travel are available. 1 day tickets are available onboard and at manned stations, all others are available only from main train and bus stations or from the tourist information desk at Belfast International Airport. Fares are subject to change.

Senior Citizens, War Disabled Persons and Blind Persons

Senior Citizens who are aged 65 years and resident in Northern Ireland, Blind persons and War Disabled persons can travel FREE on Translink rail and bus services within the province on production of a valid smartpass.
