Rural Public Transport

The Rural Transport Fund (RTF) was established in 1998 to help and encourage more people to use public transport in rural areas. It has been described as “the flagship transportation initiative in promoting social inclusion in rural areas.

Translink operate a number of services to promote tourism in rural areas. The ‘Access by Bus to the Countryside’ scheme supported by the Rural Transport Fund includes the following services. The pdfs also contain timetables for each service.

 

These services are ideal for tourists and locals alike who want to explore some of Northern Ireland’s most spectacular scenic areas by foot.  Rambler services set down and pick up at key locations in these regions as well as conveying passengers to main bus stations.
