- Single fares: Valid for up to 3 days.
- Day Saver Fares: Valid for return travel (same day only) on any train on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday. Available for Enterprise Class travel only. N.B. This is a promotional fare and may be withdrawn at any time.
- Family Day Saver Fares: Valid for return travel (same day only) on any train on ANY DAY. Available for Enterprise Class travel and valid for 2 adults and up to 4 children (under 16 years). The minimum number of passengers for which this ticket can be issued is 2 adults 1 child. Additional passengers will be charged the appropriate fare/s.
- Monthly Return Fares: Valid for return travel (up to one month) on any train. Available for First Plus and Enterprise Class travel.
- Family Monthly Return Fares: Valid for return travel (up to one month) on any train on any day. Available for Enterprise Class travel only and valid for 2 adults and up to 4 children (under 16 years). The minimum number of passengers for which this ticket can be issued is 2 adults 1 child. Additional passengers will be charged the appropriate fare/s.
- Ordinary Return Fare: Based on double the appropriate single fare and valid for return up to three months. Available for First Plus and Enterprise Class travel.Passengers travelling in First Plus for short journeys between intermediate stations on this route will be charged a minimum fare. E.g. Newry - Dundalk: Single First Plus £20.00, Return First Plus £35.00.
- Fares are also available for travel via Dublin to other stations in the Dublin area (i.e. Dun Laoghaire, Greystones), not served by cross border trains and for through travel to selected destinations beyond Dublin.

- Children / Young Persons: Passengers aged 5 and under 16 are entitled to travel at half the adult fare, rounded to the nearest 5p. (This applies to all categories of tickets). Children under 5 years travel free, when accompanied by a fare paying passenger.
- Contract Tickets: Books of 20 Single Contract Travel tickets can be purchased from NIR Travel Ltd, Great Victoria Street, Belfast or Portadown Sales and Information Centre. These will be valid for up to 6 months from the date of purchase. e.g. tickets purchased 1st February 2008 valid until 31st July 2008. Contract Tickets will only be available for travel between Belfast/Portadown/Newry and Dublin. The new rates are as follows:

Contract tickets not used within their validity WILL NOT be refunded or the validity extended.

Young persons under 18 years travelling as a group can travel at half the adult group rate. A quota policy will be applied to Groups travelling on a Friday or Sunday and also for those travelling in First Plus accommodation. This will be controlled by NIR Travel Ltd, Great Victoria Street, Belfast. NB For groups travelling beyond Dublin details should be referred to NIR Travel Ltd, Great Victoria Street, Belfast. Students: Concessionary fares may be issued to Students on production of a valid Translink Student Discount Card or a valid National Student Travel Card issued by Dublin Bus & Iarnrod Eireann.

Senior Citizens/Blind Persons/War Disabled: Senior Citizens, Blind Persons and War Pensioners travel free on production of the appropriate concession pass and on completion of a Department of Social Welfare travel warrant.
- Seat Reservations: Seat Reservations between Belfast and Dublin can only be made in First Plus accommodation unless travelling in groups of 10 or more. These are free of charge. All First Plus passengers including contract ticket holders are encouraged to reserve their seat in First Plus to avoid disappointment.
- Bicycles, Dogs and Prams Accompanied by Passengers: Bicycles, dogs and prams are carried FREE OF CHARGE on Cross-border trains. However some restrictions apply to the carriage of bikes and pets.
- Refunds on Passenger Tickets: Refunds of unused tickets may be allowed at the discretion of the Company. An administrative charge of 20% of the VALUE OF THE REFUND will be levied on all refunds. A minimum charge of £1.50 and a maximum of £5.00 will be applied. Refunds will not be allowed in respect of lost tickets, and any fares paid due to a passenger’s failure to produce a valid ticket when requested.
- Supplements: To upgrade an Enterprise Class single or any return ticket for travel in First Plus, the following charges will be applied each way:

This also applies when upgrading to First Plus for local journeys i.e. Central - Portadown.
Free travel on the DART: Passengers in possession of a valid Enterprise ticket can travel free of charge on the DART between Connolly Station and Tara Station/Pearse Station.
